The Truth About Ageism #30DayBlogChallenge

Day 9

Ageism is a common discrimination often overshadowed, but I disagree with it completely. Every person is different, every spirit is unique, and ones mentality should not be measured next to another based on age. I am 21 years old, and yes I will say that I'm a more mature person than when I was a teenager, but I've also always been classified as an "old soul" or mature person growing up. Since birth people always thought I was the eldest out of my older sister and friends. My family always seemed to have given me more responsibility. I believe in the phrase "old soul" because the body decays not the spirit, which means that some souls are older than others. It's like learning; some people understand certain things faster than others, so why life wouldn’t be seen in the same context? You should never stop learning from birth to death so the older you are the wiser YOU should become, but everyone's starting point is different. So at the age of 21 my soul is still learning, however the possibility of my spirit being older than one who is 50 is not impossible if they started off 30 years behind my spirit.

14, Ahmed Mohamed
For example the 14 year old Ahmed Mohamed, the teenager who was arrested for bringing a homemade clock to school and the teacher thought it was a bomb. If right now he continues creating and inventing more items, with time he's only going to grow and become better at it. So when he's 24 where do you think he'll be? Now let's say Jim who's currently 21 during the same time Ahmed is 14, began trying to create a clock with no experience of creating anything technological, the same watch Ahmed has already created. You do the math, if they both stayed on the exact same pace as they are now, by the time Ahmed is 24 and Jim is 31, who do you think will be more advanced? That's how age works.
