4 Ways Tekashi69 can come up somewhat on top under his circumstances

What is Racketeering?

Racketeering is a form of extortion; one who obtain money through an illegal organization usually motivated by intimidation. The RICO Act allows law enforcement to charge a person or group with racketeering if they are or have committed a certain number of crimes in a 10-year time span; which can easily be a gang and its members. As one of the easiest charges that a criminal can violate; with the ability to arrest and detain you, many major criminals shy away from public appearances. If you are seen with known criminals, you can be called in for questioning, and if the authorities find a consistent pattern among you and the criminals, you will be considered an accomplice. Everyone is fully aware that Tekashi69 is not the king pin in this organization, but as a popular affiliate with the most to lose, he was the easiest target for the feds. Here are three options that Tekashi69 has in order to get ahead and move pass this situation.

  1. He Snitches! This requires a plea bargain, that may lead to a short amount of jail time, yes, “jail time;” approximately between 1-3 years; since he is famous. Unless the charges are dropped, or he is found not guilty; which is highly unlikely if the case goes to trial, Tekashi will have to speak out to get a reduced sentence or released. During this time, Tekashi will receive publicity; simply by being incarcerated. Fans, the audience will debate whether he deserves the sentence or not, regardless of the evidence behind the case.
  2. Praise his former crew for dropping the ball.Yesterday, November 29, the former “crew” of Tekashi69 were caught in a recording taking responsibility for the shooting on August 14; while on the set of rappers’ 50 Cent video shoot for “Get the Strap.” The shooting is currently under investigation in Tekashi’s Racketeering charge. According to the documents former affiliate Mel Murda was wiretapped having a discussion with Kifano Jordan, AKA Shotti; which Murda says Tekashi was never in the gang. Admitting in a vocal recording that Tekashi was never in a gang, can alleviate all the gang related charges, because the “evidence” becomes discredited. Although ultimately the verdict is in the hands of the DA and whether they will continue to pursue the case, with more evidence that can prove he’s related to the gang. Either way this wiretap will shed light on his case.
  3. Create as much music as possible. Unloading a bunch of new music is the easiest way to continue the growth of his following, and income. Regardless of the outcome of the case, Tekashi will need to recover after the amount of income he is going to lose from: album leak, paying the label back, legal fees, cancelled tour dates etc. Releasing music will keep Tekashi relevant even in the worst scenario, for example; look at the careers of T.I., Gucci Mane,  Lil Boosie, Kodak Black, all of whom created music while incarcerated and managed to excel pass the time they were locked up.
  4. Gain an overwhelming support and acknowledge a change. As a popular rap artist, Tekashi still can get an enormous amount of people on his side. He could play the sensitive role and say things like he was unaware of any illegal activity his former friends were involved in, and he just seen them as friends due to the poor environment he grew up in, and so on. Either way gaining support always increases a positive outcome.
The “system” in a nut shell; When you’re poor funding a lawyer who not only knows the system like the back of their hand, but also wants the best outcome for the case is expensive. Meanwhile the wealthy can get in the same type of trouble and easily bounce back to normal, because the legal fees are easily funded, and of course this is without factoring in ethnicity. Justice is not about what is just or not, it’s about what can be proven or not; and what the judge and jury believe decides the outcome. However, no matter what your background is, no one wants to be involved in legal troubles. This is the only time that your life is single handily is based on the perception of other people, whom you have no personal attachment to. The thought of another unjust person deciding the outcome, is a scary thought.
