FREEDOM OF SPEECH OR FREEDOM TO OFFEND We are taught that as a Citizen of The United States , that we have Constitutional Rights. Much has been made of the Second Amendment which is; the right to BEAR ARMS. The most important Amendment for those of us of African descent, is the Thirteenth Amendment which; Abolished Slavery and Servitude. However, it is the First Amendment that remains the most powerful of all. Black Americans are currently under attack due to Racial Profiling, Voter registration Laws, and Hate Crimes. You can contribute this renewed sense of animosity to the election of the first African- American President . Since the 2008 Election Freedom of Speech has become Freedom to Offend. Under the First Amendment it also includes Religious Freedom. In the past Church and State rarely collided.
