This is the third mixtape from the rapper following his classic tape Acid Rap, once again Chance providing his uplifting artistic expression without being limited by the major labels. It's a little early to review so for now just listen, but I'm liking what I hear so far. (Review Update) After taking a good week to thoroughly enjoy Coloring Book by Chance, I realized that the title of the mixtape is perfectly cohesive to the sound. The mixtape portrays the advantage of independent freedom that Chance has over the mainstream artist. He says and does what he feels is right in this mixtape, even if that means coloring outside of the lines by cursing in the gospel songs.
