What was the first thing you were taught about the African American heritage? I guess it all fell down Stacey Think long and hard before answering that question. I remember mine, simple slavery. Our history is presented to us as if African Americans only roots were being enslaved. If not slaves here in America than slaves in Africa, who were traded here to continue slavery. Disregarding African kings, queens, tribes, and indigenous culture all over the world; Kemet, Aboriginals, the Mongols, Meso-America, Nubians, etc...The other races begin from their tribes and colonies, but we began from slavery? No, you realize once you do some extended research that we (all people) were falsely educated to that accordance. Ultimately causing devalues segregation, and mistreatment that are still present in today's society. Is this intentional? Some argue no and many suggest that the mistreatment is, but ultimately that's for you to decide. As for promoting segregation such as BET, B...
