Top 10 Songs of 2017 1. Bodak Yellow Cardi B's Bodak Yellow allowed her to reach levels that would take most rappers years to accomplish. Her take on Kodak Black's No Flockin instantly became the number one song with the first bar. After only being acknowledged as a rapper for 2 years, the young rapper is already being compared to veterans like Nicki Minaj. I'm interested in seeing where Cardi's talent takes her.   2. XO Tour LIfe If you doubted Lil Uzi Vert in 2016, well 2017s XO Tour Life changed everyone's opinion of Uzi. He officially became a rock star with this hit single. As an Uzi fan since the release of Luv is Rage in 2015, I'm happy and excited to see the level of success he's received in a 2-year time span. His future is bright, if he remains true to himself. 3. Humble, Love (8) The year 2017 also solidified Kendrick Lamar's value in hip hop. Yes, I know that Lamar is already placed on a high pedestal, but this year w...

Since the revolution of music, artist have collaborated in order to exchange fan bases and create new sounds. Collaborations ultimately benefits both parties, most of the time one star isn't as popular in the media and the other needs to remain relevant in the media hence the collab. Recently major artist like Drake, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West etc... have been criticized by audiences addressed as vultures for hopping on popular songs and instead of helping the artist, stealing their artist identity while the artist rapidly declines in status. For example Kanye remixed Chief Keef's " Don't Like " Keef remained popular the entire year and now he's unknown, Drake hopped on Fetty Wap's " My Way " and completely took the Migos flow after " Versace ." Although they all were great songs, the business of music definitely left a bad taste with hip hop fans. We're seeing more seasonal artist versus long term hip hop develop in the industry. Ba...

There's been an ongoing fight for custody over baby Future between singer Ciara and rapper Future. The pair called off their engagement months before the baby Future was born and a few me months after the child's birth is when Ciara began dating football player Russell Wilson. First and fore most, I would like to say that the picture you see above is the only picture I've ever seen with Furture and his son, but you can find several photos of Ciara, Russell and baby  Future. I'm saying this because since the split Future has made it vocally clear via Twitter that Ciara has withheld him from seeing his child and Ciara proved him to be right by filing for sole custody over baby Future. There are plenty of people who wish that their fathers were in their lives and to withhold the child this privilege based on your personal issues is unfair and ridiculous. This forces me to question her character, but after this long fight I'm happy to see Future with his son, because t...

Recently it has come to my whereabouts that the song "Father Stretch My Hands" which I thought featured Atlanta rapper Future was in fact actually a sample titled "Panda" from a G.O.O.D Music artist by the name of Designer. This is unexpected twist for Brooklyn natives in my opinion. I'm use to NY artist being innovators not impostors. We give you guys credit for creating the genre now let others manipulate the sound and make their own. Stick to the classic NY sound that we all love and admire. As a resident of Atlanta, spending half of my life in this city I was irate. Personally I'm not a Future fan nor would I ever claim to be, however that doesn't make it right to be an impostor. Future is a trap rock star period, so his style being copied doesn't surprise me, but to imply accolades in Atlanta knowing you sound just like the reigning King of Atlanta and to pretend to be him by making appearances dressed as Future and letting people address yo...

This list was derived based on album sales, relevancy, Billboard charts, art, quality, and overall organized sound of the album. There is no particular order or rank for the list, just 10 of the year’s best albums from my perspective. These are not album reviews meaning I am not critiquing the albums. For my thoughts and criticism on the albums, go to my music reviews. Big Sean - Dark Sky Paradise   Although you haven't heard much from Sean in the latest months of the year, he's definitely have had a great year. Sean released his third studio album Dark Sky Paradise on February 24, 2015 and well, he's been waaaay up, blessed since having over 300,000 in sales. The lead single "I Don't F*** With You" shot straight up the charts going platinum 3x making fans anticipate the album. The follow up singles; Paradise, Blessings, Play No Games, and One Man Can Change the World all topped the music charts at their release time. Dark Sky Paradise is certi...

Guess Who's Back? Yep, Bad Boy! Diddy decided to release an unexpected mixtape title  MMM  for all the Bad Boy fans. Saluting none other than the late Notorious B.I.G. Puff Daddy is making sure his legacy lives on in this tape. This star studded mixtape features Bad Boy's current roster; King Los, Lil Kim, and French Montana, but also artist like Future, Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean, Travis Scott and more. I enjoyed  MMM  because it brings out that classic New York sound that us 90s babies remember. My favorite is the "Facts" introduction, Oooh that was cold! Great way to introduce your legacy Puff, and yes I have to refer to you as Puff, because that's what this mixtape does,  MMM  brings me back. King Los is hands down the best MC on the tape, Big Sean second this time. Diddy still sucks at rapping, but he's Diddy. The only flaw I can hear in  MMM  is the hooks could've been a little more catchier, but other than that,  MMM  is solid. I giv...

What A Time To Be ALive "What a time to be alive" is the title of Drake's & Future's collaborative project, that Drake recently confirmed via Instagram. The two rappers have been hinting about the collaboration over the past week via social medial, and like everyone else we've been keeping our eye out.  . Drake recently shared the artwork for the project on Instagram, captioning it " WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE” will be available at 8pm EST, Sunday on ITunes. So stay tuned for the review! The internet went crazy after the release of  What a Time to Be Alive , Drake and Future collaboration project. After thoroughly listening to the new Drake & Future album What a Time to Be Alive, I've concluded that this is the best club banger album of the year. Yes, I agree with the audience. Now comparing What a Time to be Alive to Watch The Throne is a far stretch, but I will say Future and Drake delivered on their expectations. This is the str...

Dirty Sprite 2  Released: July 17, 2015 In the midst of the baby mama drama and twitter arguments, Future Hendrix managed to release his hot new album Dirty Sprite 2 . This is the third studio album from Future, with only one feature, rapper pal Drake. Which is a major difference from the sophomore album Honest that contains 9 features. In recent interviews Future discusses going back to his roots, the ATL, in order to recreate himself and his fans love for the Future they've always known. I should go into the Ciara & Future drama, because of his recent comments regarding Ciara bringing their son around her new boo, Russell Wilson. Since the break up with Future and singer Ciara the Futurehive is buzzing saying, "he's back!" I to am enjoying Dirty Sprite 2 . The production fits the album and Future's voice. The summer club bangerz have finally arrived. Despite the "promoting of drug use" comments made, but taken out of context by rapper OG Mac...
