#RIPBIG The Top 15 Biggie Songs
R.I.P Biggie
Today marks the 16 Anniversary of a Hip-Hop legend "The Notorious B.I.G." March 9, 1997 Christopher Wallace was shot in a drive-by shooting, assuming it was due to the beef between Tupac. After only having 2 completed albums before he died and 1 released album after his death, we truly lost a influential person in hip-hop. In honor of this day I created this list of the Top 15 Biggie Songs. Enjoy!
15. Big Poppa
Single off of his Ready To Die album. This is a good song coming at number 15 because of it's popularity and because it's just a classic. Many probably think this song should be lower.
14. Unbelievable
This is track 16 off of Ready To Die. The entertaining beat matched with flawless bars makes this song number 14.
13. Ten Crack Commandments
Track 5 off of the second disc in Life After Death is known for it's unique format of pretty nice bars. Biggie goes through the 10 things you must learn in order to be successful when dealing drugs. The unspoken truth was now spoken.
12. The What
This song is track 9 off of Ready To Die. I chose this song mainly because of the feature. Method Man's nice verse and chorus was the icing on the cake to this song.
11. Brooklyn's Finest
No this is not a Biggie song but he does feature in it. Off Jay-Z 96 Reasonable Doubt, biggie features and lays down a couple of lines proving why they're "Brooklyn's Finest."
10. Get Money
This 1995 classic song off of Junior Mafia's Conspiracy album had to make the list. Biggie and Lil Kim nice and flawless bars is what make this song great. Although Tupac used this beat to diss B.I.G once they began beefing, I still enjoy the original.
9. Mo Money Mo Problems
This hit single is number 9 for being a classic collaboration. The video depicts the life we all want while Biggie is explaining that life doesn't get easier once you have money makes the song timeless.
8.One More Chance
This song is just one of them songs that you put on repeat, constantly. This old R&B goes perfectly with Biggies unique flow and tone of his voice.
7. Who Shot Ya
Actually this song is not on the original Ready To Die album. "Who Shot Ya" was a regular recorded song that changed the hip-hop industry forever. This song was claimed to had been directed towards Tupac after he was gunned down in a New York studio. This was the song that started it all which eventually led to his death, but the flawless lyrics is why the song is number 7.
6. Sky's The Limit
Of course this song would be on the list. This motivating anthem is number 6 because of the style, lyrics, and video for the song.
5.Warning
Ironically this is the number 5 track on Ready to Die, but it's number 5 on here because of it's story and nice lyrics to match. The video goes perfectly with the song.
4.Things Done Changed
This song is the first track off of Ready To Die which sets the tone for the rest of the album. This song is just flawless. This classic song depicts the reality of what things were like for many makes including B.I.G.
3.Hypnotize
This leading single off of Life After Death is another classic song from B.I.G. Is number 3 because of the style, beat, and the video were just timeless.
2.Suicidal Thoughts
Nothing really needs to be said when you see this song on the list. This is the last song off of Ready To Die. The song ends with B.I.G shooting himself in the head and the album is over. The entire album tells a story and this song is the final ending of the story. Throughout the song he is contemplating suicide and the way he is doing it makes the song an absolute classic, which is why the song is number 2.
1. Juicy
Like are you really surprised? Probably Not? Juicy is the number 1 song because well it's classic. From the opening of the song to the end B.I.G is showing us what we all strive for, "success." This successful leading single off of Ready To Die set the tone for his career. We knew what to expect from him and he delivered time after time.
