Serena Williams is Beautiful

The Modern Day Amazon

Who determines beauty? I thought beauty was in the eye of the beholder, at least that's what most of us are taught while we're growing up. However the term beauty isn't considered so general in reality. Unfortunately people are equipped to matching beauty to certain characteristics that doesn't even describe over 40% of the world. I know what you're thinking, what does this have to do with Serena Williams. At age 33, Serena Williams is still the worlds best tennis player holding 67 singles titles and 22 double titles to her name. So why is she not the highest paid women tennis player?
At age 28, Maria Sharapova is rank #2 holding 35 singles titles, and 3 double titles. Maria Sharapova is the highest earned female tennis player making over 20 million in endorsements while Serena makes only 13 million in endorsements. Many argue that Serena doesn't fit the feminine "look" that sponsors are open to endorsing, media has criticized her size speculating the use of steroids, and many on social media blatantly saying "she looks like a man." In response to those of you that say, are you freaking blind! Serena Williams is gorgeous, a mere modern day amazon. Her physique is strong, powerful, and dominant which the media fears. Amazon warriors fought and died like men while remaining female and attractive to many, such as; Athleta, Charmion, Xena, Wonder Woman. Race might play a part in why Serena isn't considered beautiful, but she is in fact a beautiful woman regardless of ethnicity.

Serena Williams defied body-shamers on Monday by sharing a photo of herself in a form-fitting pink gown at Sunday's Wimbledon Champions' Dinner.
Williams, who defeated Garbine Muguruza to win her sixth Wimbledon finals match on Saturday, attended the annual dinner at the Guidlhall in London with fellow champ Novak DjokovicThe 33-year-old documented the party on social media, posting the photo of herself in the glamorous dress via Instagram. "Swerve," she wrote of the floor-length gown, which featured an embellished and mesh bodice and a silk train.
