Reinventing gangster rap Emonsta

Emond Franklin (born June 21 1991), better known by his stage name Edmonsta, is an American rapper born in the crime-infested West Bank neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana. Edmonsta started his life off with a struggle. At 8 weeks old, his father permanently departed the family, leaving  Edmond's mother to give all parental rights to her sister because she was unable to raise a third child on her own. His Aunt raised him to be the man he is today. "I call her mother to this day. My aunt made sure I had what I needed even though she was struggling. She made sure I went to school, made sure I was making good grades. My aunt always came an got me out of trouble when I in trouble".
Emondsta found his true love producing music.
"There's nothing like it", He says.

Passionately driven to fulfill his dreams, Edmond knew music was his future and felt he had something incredibly powerful to share with the world. At the young age of seventeen, Emonsta started rapping and was quickly referred to as, "the hottest thing on the streets of the West Bank".
"My aunt taught me at a young age that you have to be book smart and street smart to survive in this world as a leader".
With those lessons under his belt, he soon ventured out on his own.  His uncompromising work ethic would not allow him to rest on his more than impressive laurels. Finally having the first opportunity to showcase his innovative style and unique persona, Emonsta entered the BET Awards Cypher contest and placed second out of one hundred of entries.

Now living in Houston TX, Emonsta has gained popularity by sharing the stage with Grammy nominated artist Plies and the southern legend Lil Boosie. In 2015, the young MC proved to be one of a kind and released his mixtape "Cuttavile" with the street anthem Choppa Dance. With the momentum his single created, Emonsta  has proved himself to be unstoppable. Without a label deal, he took the wisdom and independence his aunt bestowed on him and kicked his own career off by shooting his own music video and crafted his own Internet campaign that houses many rival acts resting high on the Billboard charts. The world of hip hop can only wait for what comes next from this groundbreaking artist.
