Hail to the Redsk...err...The U.S. Patent and Trademark office

Image
The worst part about Dan Snyder's Friday...is that it's only Wednesday. Today, his public relations fiasco defending the derogatory Washington NFL mascot has come to a sudden hiccup. The U.S. Patent and Trademark office cancelled six federal trademark registrations for the name "Washington Redskins ." Who would've imagined the day where a $1.56B franchise logo would catch a side-eye from a trademark office? As it turns out, that said logo doesn't quite please the federal laws in which the U.S. Patent and Trademark office operate under -- the team's name is "disparaging to Native Americans." “We decide, based on the evidence properly before us, that these registrations must be cancelled because they were disparaging to Native Americans at the respective times they were registered,” the board wrote in its opinion,  which is here . A brief explanation of how the Board reached its decision is  here . "  Feel free to read more on the afor...

I Just Want A Picasso! 1904 The Blue Room This is Pablo Picasso’s painting “The Blue Room.” Created in 1901, the piece is one of the his first masterpieces. He painted the image in Paris, during his famous “blue period.” Pablo Picasso is known for his abstract paintings, having multiple images and meaning behind them. Scientists and experts from the Phillips Collection, National Gallery of Art, Cornell University, and Delaware’s Winterthur Museum have been studying the masterpiece since 2008. The year is 2014 and art experts now discover the image behind "The Blue Room."  Back in 1954, conservators suspected that there might be another painting below the surface of The Blue Room, because the brushstrokes did not match the composition of the woman depicted in Picasso’s studio. In 1990 X-rays revealed a fuzzy image underneath the surface of the original painting. main image discovered image

Mark J. Rebilas/US PRESSWIR Earlier today, Yahoo sports announced Derek Fisher has signed a 5-year $25 Million deal for Head Coach of the New York Knicks. Fisher is the second of recent guards to make the transition from player to coach after Jason Kidd did so just a year ago.   The Head Coach job was originally set out for Steve Kerr, who just signed the same deal as Fisher with the Golden State Warriors. Because of that said deal, Fisher became the next suitable candidate for the position. Derek Fisher has always been more than an athlete. He served as NBPA president from 2006 up until 2013, where he was voted out by the union even after he ushered them through a 2011 lockout. Needless to say, he is not shy of being a leader, especially after learning from some pretty phenomenal mentors like Phil Jackson -- President of NY Knicks Now that he is paired up with his old coach, Phil Jackson, how will the former guard and former head coach collaborate? When ...

Justin Bieber Sings About Joining the KKK (Video Leak)

Image
Justin Bieber Racist Maybe?   This is very upsetting especially being a pro Justin Beiber. Clip Provided by clever news, Thank You. Justin released an apology for the videos stating how he was young and seen his comments as humorous. In a way I believe Justin that the comments were suppose to be taken lightly and as simple humor, because this generation has tendencies of having crude humor. However I do not agree with the action, and I think videos such as the ones that leaked, should ultimately effects his fan base,. Will this effect his fan base though? Probably not, Justin Bieber has one of the strongest and consistent fan base, if anything the video prolongs his career and relevancy. What do you think?
