Leader Ad

Style

Surprise Surprise
Jaden Smith is the new face of Louis Vuitton's womenswear campaign. The series of ads was shot by legendary photographer Bruce Weber, with two of them debuting Sunday on the Instagram of LV's creative director, Nicolas Ghesquière.
Clad in an embellished skirt, fringed top and moto jacket that debuted during Paris Fashion Week -- and that we'd very much like to get our hands on -- Smith looks at ease alongside the female stars of the shoot. The 17-year-old, whose little sister Willow also just starred in a major fashion campaign, has become known for breaking the norm with his sartorial choices. So if any guy is going to star in a womenswear campaign, Smith is the perfect choice.

Fans are excited about Louie Vuitton's decision to make Jaden the face, saying "so much respect for this guy." Others are skeptical as of why boys/men should dress in girls/ women clothing to begin with. I personally don't see anything wrong with Jaden wearing a skirt, because Pharaohs are often depicted dressed in similar attire. The Pharaoh in ancient Egypt was the political and religious leader of the people and held the titles 'Lord of the Two Lands’ and 'High Priest of Every Temple’. The word, pharaoh is the Greek form of the Egyptian 'pero’ or 'per-a-a’, which was the designation for the royal residence. The name of the residence became associated with the ruler and, in time, was used exclusively for the leader of the people. So maybe the meaning behind Jaden's skirt wear is he considers himself a high public figure.

Growing up we all wanted to be a Disney Princess, and now we can with LA Splash Cosmetics new lipstick line. With the exception of princesses Snow White and Cinderella, the line features 12 of your favorite Disney princesses. Nala and Bella are representing the stand out nude colors. Great idea, which all women can relate to, now all we need are the popular Frozen characters; Elsa and Auna.

WHAT   INSPIRED   ME   INTO CREATING   YORKS PASSION Co.?

Born in Jamaica Queens but raised in a Muslim community in Brooklyn, Abdullah Thomas has always had a business mentality. With an intelligent Mother who earned a living by selling Baked Lasagna, Sliced Cake, Banana Pudding and Cold Beverages taught him the value of money. Abdullah and his Sister eventually followed the business mentally by selling Hair Barrettes, Accessories, and Action Figures.

Reuniting with Abdullah’s father his family decided to move down south to Georgia, where he had the opportunity to build a relationship with his father. Later finding out he was a lead Singer in a Band he started called Passion.  With a profound Music Legacy in the early 80's late 90's, and also known as "THE MAN BEHIND THE MUSIC".   Knowing this incredible information about his father is what inspired the Passion Logo. This is off of his roll and rock vinyls cover and fuss it with modern urban fashion.

Abdullah’s Passion include:  Fashion; Music, Photography, Design, Graphics and Arts, which lead me to creating Yorks Passion.

Should Hip Hop Have Labels? Conscious VS Trap

Conscious VS Trap
After Vince Staple tweet about not wanting to be placed in the conscious rap label last Wednesday evening, Hip Hop heads voiced their opinion on the sub labels of hip hop.

I am highly offended by the term conscious rap don't associate me with that. — Vince Staples (@vincestaples) August 12, 2015
This brings me to talk about the topic. Should hip hop have sub genres? Hip Hop was founded on the fun of mixing together music with rhymes and developed into storytelling, word play, political power etc... The culture of hip hop will always include the elements of  DJs to turn the tables, a microphone to spit the bars, graffiti to paint the images, and the infinite break dancing. Introduced in the late 70's were hip hop pioneer groups like, the Sugar Hill Gang, who were the first hip hop group to enter into mainstream media with the classic anthem "Rappers Delight," which expressed pure fun, funkadelic beats, rhymes, and basic flow. During the 80's when…

Steph Curry Goat or Not?

Is Stephen Curry a GOAT?As we begin to close out the NBA playoffs entering into the finals and championship game, the topic of who's "The best player in the league" has become the center of the conversation. On May 10th, the NBA league announced that Steph Curry was unanimously voted as the most valuable player (MVP) in the NBA. Once this news was released it instantly went viral all over sports media, most people agreeing with the decision. Since then fans has made critical claims some ridiculous and others were reasonable. I've heard people refer to Stephen Curry as "the goat" (greatest of all time) comparing him to Michael Jordan even. First and foremost Stephen Curry is what I call a true point guard. He reads each position, pass, and shot thoroughly before just taking them. He has great game IQ without any question and knows when to shoot or pass. Yes he possibly could play the shooting guard position because he's a creative shooter who averages be…

Open the Vault Top 10 Disney Movies

There's always a message and a principal to be learned while watching a Disney movie. These messages are what evolve the story line, setting the tone that speaks to their audiences. Below are 10 of the greatest Disney films ever released; excluding the Disney princesses, because that's a separate discussion.
The Lion King Lion King is by far still the one of the greatest movies ever created. The story of young cub named Simba, who's learning how to become the king of Pride Rock. Watching the infamous tail as a young child helps you develop true character. Teaching us the difference from right and wrong, how to face hardships, why we should appreciate the people in our lives, and even how to develop relationships with others unlike ourselves. The Lion Kingis appreciated by audiences of all ages including adults. Everything from the scenery to the cast created the realism inside of the film. The voices of the characters were castes perfectly, and the music help develop each …
