5 RnB Albums of the Decade

Frank Ocean
Channel Orange
In his unique style and such a short time frame, Frank Ocean became the most anticipated RnB singer of 2012. Prior to the release of his debut album Channel Orange, Frank collaborated with multiple artists imprinting his classic sound into the music. Instantly standing out making audiences fall in love with him. After exceeding the expectation of Channel Orange Frank’s fan base have grown and since has been waiting on a follow up sophomore album. Channel Orange released on July 10, 2012 and since then Frank has only been heard on features. Where are you!?!? He's teased fans suggesting that a new album will soon be released, in 2015 he announced that an album would be released July of 2015, personally I downloaded Spotify just for this reason, but it's April 2016 and still no album. Frank Ocean's classic album Channel Orange has created music most patient fans since Dr. Dre's Detox.

Miguel
Kaleidoscope Dream
The artist that keeps surprising us is the phrase I use for describing Miguel. He first gained popularity in the music scene with his hit single "Quickie," and fans loved him, but personally I wasn't a fan of the song. He gained my attention after the release of All I Want is You, both the song and his debut album in 2010. Although I enjoyed the album I was unsure of how great of a song writer Miguel was, not expecting his sophomore album to be better than his first. Boy did he prove me wrong! With the release of Kaleidoscope Dream in September 2012, Miguel officially gained superstar status. In 2015 Miguel transformed his style in Wildheart his thirds album and received mixed reviews from audiences and critics, but I personally loved the album. Once again he proved me wrong by diversifying himself into a rock star with the collaboration of Lenny Kravitz. I can't wait for his next album, I hope Frank Ocean accepts Miguel's challenge and they release their albums around the same time again.

Bruno Mars
Unorthodox Jukebox
I still don't know how Bruno Mars blew up; he literally did it in a blink of an eye. One second he's featuring on B.O.B's hit song "Nothing on you" and next he releases a platinum debut album that was featured everywhere, titled Doo-Wops & Hooligan. I loved that album! So by the time of his sophomore album Unorthodox Jukebox, I was fully prepared for Bruno's greatness. Released in December of 2012, Unorthodox Jukebox became an instant classic. As one of the most talented vocalist in the millennial generation Bruno has already gained a solidified long lasting fan base. Since the release of his second album Bruno has put out the hit single Uptown Funk in 2014, but has been quiet for the most part. Hopefully he's working on that third album, because his fans are definitely patiently waiting for it.

The Weekend
Beauty Behind the Madness
The Weekend is a talented. His songs display so much intensity and emotion that you can't help but to listen to him. Although today's artist a similar to his sound, The Weekend stands out completely separate from the others. Emerging from this Toronto sound wave, we discovered The Weekend on Drake's Grammy winning album Take Care. Since then there has been rumors and skeptics on the amount The Weekend contributed on the album. Idk, but I wouldn't be surprised if he played a major role, because everything he touches is golden. Earning several Grammy's and endorsements with his second album Beauty Behind the Madness, The Weekend is finally getting the acknowledgment and respect he deserves. He is now one of the most highly anticipated artists in 2016. Congrats!

The Internet
Ego Death
This unexpected band is definitely some of the most underrated talents of this decade. Their unique sound is completely separate from the Odd Future that we're use to, but then again every member of Odd Future was unique in their own way. However The Internet collaborated their sounds making a smooth jazzy type of vibe to music. The lead singer and former DJ for the group Syd Bennett, got pipes! She’s an actual singer who can actually hold her notes. That's rare nowadays for females. Each member carries their own essence that's performed inside of the music. The release of their debut album Purple Naked Ladies, in January 2012 proved that they can compete in the major leagues, developing a nice Indy fan base. Their most recent album Ego Death released in June of 2015 gained more mainstream fans and attention. The Internet is far from finish they're only getting better and keep dropping albums with status like Ego Death, they'll be undeniable to everyone soon enough. However I still believe Ego Death is one of the best albums of the decade.
