Cassidy vs. Meek Mill battle is a no go.

We were all expecting it. We all were anticipating it. We were all ready to see a freestyle battle showdown between Meek Mill and legendary freestyle battler Cassidy. Well...guess what. It's not happening. Surprise, surprise. We all knew that this battle was too good to be true. Meek Mill makes a living off of yelling at us via studio microphone now. He has no time for freestyle battling. Well, his explanation was a bit more in depth.

Oh you didn't know? Meek Mill, once upon a time had dirty braids to the point where they looked like a TV censorship. (Look above for proof). During that time period, Meek was bodying folks on the freestyle battles. He is not to be slept on when it comes to battling. Could he give The Hustla a challenge? I'll let you be the judge of that.

Ok, so maybe Cassidy is a step (or a staircase) ahead of Meek, but I think that Meek could possibly give Cassidy a challenge. Meek did this for a living once upon a time. Also, don't act like you've seen more than one or two of Cassidy's battles. All you probably have heard is his casual freestlyes. Despite all of that, Cassidy is still a freestyle battle legend. He is known solely for his freestyling abilities--not his singles. Can you even name Cassidy's album off the top of your head? I would say, "I'll wait", but I still have to finish this blog post. Anywho, I know the hip-hop culture feels let down. I know I do. I'm praying to God that Loaded Lux comes out of the woodwork and challenges Cassidy. Now THAT would be a classic.

All in all, this battle would have conjoined two sub-cultures in hip-hop. It's unfortunate that it isn't going to happen. Despite the anticipation it generated, it could have brought the best of both worlds together for a showdown that would have went down in the books...possibly. Cassidy could have revitalized his career, and Meek Mill could have earned exponentially much more respect in both industries. Just imagine a successful mainstream rap artist still bodying people on the freestyle battlefield. The last one of those that we've had, hmmm....Eminem. My case is rested. I guess would rather watch Rick Ross' blood pressure do numbers than his music. Oh well. We can complain all we want, but it ain't happening. Let's just hope something better comes out of this. Until then...
