Cam Newton Has Growing to do. (Super Bowl 50)
Denver Beats Carolina 24 - 10
A story book ending for Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning. After overcoming the heat all year for suspicion of steroids usage, injuries, and questions of retirement, Manning delivers under pressure in order to earn his second super bowl win. Manning can now retire as a champ and future Hall of Famer.
From beginning to end this game appeared
to be defensively controlled. Both teams forced unexpected turnovers. Overall
Denver succeeded due to having a more effective offense and not making as many
avoidable mistakes. Carolina I hate to say because I was rooting for them, but
they played sloppy. Every time it felt like they were starting to build a
little momentum they beat themselves with a stupid mistake, whether it was
fumbling the ball or getting a false start penalty. Yes, some of the calls were
questionable but that goes alongside of playing a political sport.
Statistically Carolina's quarter back Cam Newton played a better game than
Manning. So why didn't the panthers win? Well first in football it's impossible
to be the entire team, so there for your team must coexist with you. Last night
it looked like only Cam and the Carolina defensive showed up to practice, while
the rest of the offensive line was sleep. Every time Carolina would get a major
gain in yards they couldn't capitalize with scoring or they would fumble the
ball. Both quarterbacks had thrown an interception, but ultimately the two
score differences in the game were determined by the fumbles. Carolina having 3
fumbles while Denver only had 1. Audiences could argue that the game seemed
fixed due to the number of penalties Carolina received , having 6 more than
Denver, but I wouldn't say so. Although there definitely were like 2
questionable penalties and flags that should've been thrown, I think Carolina
was their own demise. They couldn't grab a handle on the game against Denver’s
solid defense. Denver's defense was out standings, I've never seen Cam sacked
or scrambling so many times. They forced Cam out of his comfort zone and never
gave him a window of opportunity. The MVP title was awarded to a defensive line
backer Von Miller. Such a rare award for a defensive player, but Miller
deserves the title because ultimately his forced fumble solidified the win of
the game.
Good game, but not as great as the
halftime show. This was an epic halftime performance from Cold Play, Beyonce,
and Bruno Mars. Wait, Bruno Mars? Yes, Bruno Mars has come out of his 4 year
shadow with a dance battle during the Super Bowl against the Queen. Talk about
a comeback. Queen Bey performed her recent release "Formation" that
we're still warming up to and Bruno performed his hit song "Uptown
Funk". Bruno stole the show to me not only because he chose a song that
everyone knows and enjoys but he brought the soul and energy. Cold play was
great from beginning to end. The performances were so good that I forgot that I
was watching the super bowl game.
During the final 2 minutes of the game Carolina's
faith was already decided, being down by 2 touchdowns. With the end score as
24-10 with the Denver Broncos as the winners of the 2016 50th Super Bowl.
Quarterback Cam Newton was emotionally distraught by the loss, walking out
during the middle of his post game interview. I guess the young talent has a
little more growing to do.
I like Beyoncé. However , this performance made me feel confused. There was no cohesiveness between the three performers. It's almost as if they put this performance together last minute. Bruno performed the best.
