The Underachievers Evermore: The Art of Duality Review

Track List Rain Dance (Phase 1 Intro) Shine All Gold Chasing Faith Star Signs The Dualist Illusions The Brooklyn Way Reincarnation (Phase 2 Intro) Take Your Place Moon Shot Generation Z Allusions We The Hope Stay The Same Unconscious Monsters (Evermore Outro) Review: After 2 weeks of straight turn up music, I was relieved to hear UA's new album Evermore: The Art of Duality. The conscious independent group, gave their fans notice of the album back in August, and released the album on schedule, Friday, September 25. The Art of Duality is nicely organized and balanced for the social conscious music listeners like myself, providing for us lyricism and party music that we enjoy in songs like "Allusions" and "Star Signs." Yes, you can turn up to actual words, phrases, and ideas. These Flatbush zombies bring us back to "The Brooklyn Way" the East coast hip hop that I once fell in love with as a child. Thanks! Top 10 Black Sitcoms

Image
Everybody reading this post is a fan of at least one black sitcom. That's just being modest. I don't care how young you were or if you were too poor to keep your cable on, you were still gettin' it poppin' with the black entertainment. I'm not going to go into TOO much detail, because I simply don't feel like it. I will, however, give you brief and adequate explanations for each. With that being said, let's get into the list. 10. The Cosby Show The Cosby Show is one of the most classic black sitcoms of all time. It paved the way for many of the other black sitcoms we have watched, and still watch today. Truth is, though....it wasn't really all that. I don't know about you all, but sitting through a Cosby Show Marathon would be the equivalent of listening to a Curren$y mixtape. I wouldn't make it through. With all due respect to Mr. Cosby, I don't find him to be that funny. He out here making all those noises with his mouth like he's ...

Mixtapes of the Week

In case you don't remember who O.T. Genasis is, here's his famous phrase "I'm in love with the Co Co," the hit song that introduced us to the MC. His new mixtape Rhythm & Bricks released this week and does not feature the hit song. We needed to hear more from Genasis, because Co Co was the only song I heard, so take a listen to his mixtape which features artist like; Wiz Khalifa, Lil Wayne, Young Dolph, The Game, and K Camp. Nice!  O.T. Genasis - Rhythm & Bricks Siya - What Never Happened Black COAL - Ski Masks & Diplomas

Fetty Wap Album Review (Update) #PrayforFettywap

Image
Well the judgement is in about Fetty Wap self-titled album. With the hit song "Trap Queen" as the lead single Fetty Wap instantly went viral, making him a part of the 2015 XXL Freshmen Class. After several covers of the hit song were made audiences began anticipating more music from the freshmen. Critics thought Fetty would be a one hit wonder with the classic song, but he proved us wrong with the follow up single "My Way" which features Drake on the radio version. "All I Gotta Do is Put My Mind to This Sh**" is what Fetty did with this album. Fetty Wap delivers his unique sound nicely and with song like "Trap Luv" "679" and "Whateva" makes the album very catchy. However I dislike that the album has so many features from the rapper Monty. No offense, but honestly Monty sucks as a rapper, I tried to give him a shot but every time his part comes on I just want to skip it, and I really disliked that. Also the album has too man...

Empire Season 2 Premiere, Game On!

Image
"The day " Empire " fans have been waiting for has finally arrived. Fox will air first episode of "Empire" season two on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 9 p.m. ET. The end of "Empire" season one saw Lucious put behind bars and Jamal become the CEO of Empire Entertainment. Naturally, the feuding members of the Lyon family will have different ways of handling the change, and that will inevitably lead to more conflict. With this in mind, here are three things you can expect to see in episode one of "Empire" season two: 1. Lucious is still running things from jail Although the incarcerated Lucious has appointed his son Jamal as the CEO of Empire Entertainment, he should still be in control of the company. Lucious wouldn't let something as trivial as a murder trial prevent him from handling his business, so you can definitely expect him to use his influence to direct Empire Entertainment from jail. 2. Cookie, Anika, Andre and Hakeem w...

Forbes Names Hip Hop Kings

See anything different on the list? Well I do! For the past 5 years this list has fluctuated between Diddy, Jay Z, Dr Dre, Birdman and 50 Cent. Well not this year, 50 Cent encountered many legal troubles this year including filing for Bankruptcy, and Birdman well he's still on the list just further down. Once again Diddy grabs the number one spot of the highest earnings in the hip hop sphere with his Vodka Ciroc brand. Jay Z with Roc Nation, having major artist like Beyonce and J. Cole on the roster, with J. Cole having his biggest year with his 2014 Forest Drive album going platinum. Although the year is not over 2015 seems to be the year of Drizzy, Drake dropping two mixtapes, opening up a restaurant in Toronto, and having the only hip hop project to go platinum this year. Oh yeah not to mention his explosive beef with Meek Mill that dominated the internet for months, which led to the infamous "Back 2 Back" hit single/diss song. Drake is officially in the major leag...

Image
What A Time To Be ALive "What a time to be alive" is the title of Drake's & Future's collaborative project, that Drake recently confirmed via Instagram. The two rappers have been hinting about the collaboration over the past week via social medial, and like everyone else we've been keeping our eye out.  . Drake recently shared the artwork for the project on Instagram, captioning it " WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE” will be available at 8pm EST, Sunday on ITunes. So stay tuned for the review! The internet went crazy after the release of  What a Time to Be Alive , Drake and Future collaboration project. After thoroughly listening to the new Drake & Future album What a Time to Be Alive, I've concluded that this is the best club banger album of the year. Yes, I agree with the audience. Now comparing What a Time to be Alive to Watch The Throne is a far stretch, but I will say Future and Drake delivered on their expectations. This is the str...
